style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los resultados de este proyecto, podr\u00edan facilitar el dise\u00f1o de f\u00e1rmacos que\u00a0 puedan estabilizar la prote\u00edna ATM o regulen las chaperonas mutantes, lo que podr\u00eda aliviar significativamente la gravedad y la progresi\u00f3n de la A-T.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la ataxia telangiectasia se produce la p\u00e9rdida de una prote\u00edna llamada ATM, que participa en la reparaci\u00f3n del da\u00f1o en el ADN. La mayor\u00eda de las mutaciones en el gen ATM provocan la inestabilidad de la prote\u00edna codificada. La ATM requiere prote\u00ednas auxiliares llamadas chaperonas moleculares o complejos de chaperonas, para su ensamblaje en una prote\u00edna completamente funcional. Investigaciones recientes muestran que las mutaciones hereditarias en estas prote\u00ednas chaperonas pueden hacer que la prote\u00edna ATM se vuelva inestable y los pacientes desarrollen los s\u00edntomas cl\u00ednicos de la ataxia telangiectasia. Es necesario aclarar c\u00f3mo funcionan estas prote\u00ednas chaperonas para estabilizar la ATM y c\u00f3mo determinadas mutaciones afectan este proceso.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El equipo de Kent busca definir con precisi\u00f3n c\u00f3mo estas prote\u00ednas chaperonas interact\u00faan con ATM. El equipo visualizar\u00e1 la v\u00eda de ensamblaje natural de la prote\u00edna ATM, mediada por chaperonas, con un potente microscopio electr\u00f3nico. Este enfoque proporcionar\u00e1 informaci\u00f3n crucial para comprender c\u00f3mo las diferentes mutaciones de la prote\u00edna ATM afectan su estabilidad y actividad. Esta informaci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 fundamental para dise\u00f1ar peque\u00f1as mol\u00e9culas farmacol\u00f3gicas potentes que puedan estabilizar y restablezcan la actividad de la ATM reduciendo la
