Los defectos en el uso de la glucosa podr\u00edan provocar una acumulaci\u00f3n de gluc\u00f3geno*, que podr\u00eda ser t\u00f3xico para las c\u00e9lulas cerebrales. Estudiar\u00e1n las reacciones moleculares controladas por la ATM que favorecen el correcto uso de la glucosa y evaluar\u00e1n la posible toxicidad de la acumulaci\u00f3n de gluc\u00f3geno para entender c\u00f3mo se producen estos defectos y c\u00f3mo podr\u00edan corregirse.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">El equipo estudiar\u00e1 los mecanismos que conducen al procesamiento ineficiente de la glucosa y la acumulaci\u00f3n de gluc\u00f3geno en las c\u00e9lulas AT y el impacto de la acumulaci\u00f3n de gluc\u00f3geno en la supervivencia de las c\u00e9lulas AT. Monitorizar\u00e1n el metabolismo de la glucosa en las c\u00e9lulas AT primarias y medir\u00e1n directamente la actividad de las enzimas que controlan reacciones reguladoras clave en el procesamiento de la glucosa. Tambi\u00e9n medir\u00e1n la funci\u00f3n mitocondrial para comprender si los defectos en el uso de glucosa est\u00e1n relacionados con alteraciones mitocondriales. Adem\u00e1s, explorar\u00e1n el impacto de enzimas conocidas implicadas en la acumulaci\u00f3n de gluc\u00f3geno y la supervivencia de las c\u00e9lulas AT para identificar posibles alteraciones en las v\u00edas que controlan el metabolismo energ\u00e9tico en las c\u00e9lulas AT. Finalmente, el equipo utilizar\u00e1 neuronas de Purkinje derivadas de c\u00e9lulas reprogramadas humanas AT y sanas en el laboratorio para validar el impacto de las alteraciones relacionadas con el metabolismo alterado de la glucosa.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">*El gluc\u00f3geno es la forma de glucosa almacenada en el cuerpo.<\/p><p class=\"p1\"><b>M\u00e1s informaci\u00f3n<\/b>\u00a0<a
