AT.\u00a0Esto se debe en parte a la falta de comprensi\u00f3n sobre c\u00f3mo se degeneran las c\u00e9lulas del cerebelo.\u00a0A trav\u00e9s del estudio de los patrones en los que los genes se expresan en los minicerebros AT en comparaci\u00f3n con los creados a partir de donantes de control, deber\u00eda ser posible determinar qu\u00e9 partes de la c\u00e9lula que funcionan mal causan s\u00edntomas en AT y, por lo tanto, podr\u00edan ser atacables con medicamentos.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">En un estudio anterior, el Dr. Sam Nayler y su equipo realizaron la secuenciaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica en c\u00e9lulas individuales de minicerebros (organoides cerebrales) creados a partir de c\u00e9lulas de pacientes con ataxia telangiectasia.\u00a0A partir de estos datos, han predicho qu\u00e9 genes se interrumpen en ausencia de ATM (el gen que falta o no funciona completamente en AT), con un enfoque en los genes clave que podr\u00edan ser el objetivo de los medicamentos.\u00a0Sin embargo, se requiere un an\u00e1lisis m\u00e1s profundo para comprender c\u00f3mo se ven afectados los diferentes tipos de c\u00e9lulas del cerebro y, como resultado, qu\u00e9 medicamentos podr\u00edan provocar efectos restauradores, al tiempo que minimizan los efectos secundarios.\u00a0Con este proyecto realizar\u00e1n un an\u00e1lisis mucho m\u00e1s profundo de estos datos, con el objetivo de clasificar los tipos de c\u00e9lulas con la resoluci\u00f3n m\u00e1s alta posible utilizando los \u00faltimos avances estad\u00edsticos, datos relevantes en el campo y las mejores pr\u00e1cticas actuales.\u00a0Esto permitir\u00e1 un an\u00e1lisis detallado de tipos de c\u00e9lulas espec\u00edficas (es decir, astrocitos, gr\u00e1nulos,\u00a0neurona de Purkinje) entre pacientes con AT y controles.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">El equipo los compartir\u00e1 con otros investigadores interesados.\u00a0Adem\u00e1s de este trabajo, tambi\u00e9n caracterizar\u00e1n funcionalmente la actividad neuronal.\u00a0Examinar\u00e1n la contribuci\u00f3n de una importante c\u00e9lula inmunitaria, la microgl\u00eda, que antes no hab\u00eda sido posible.\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"p1\"><b>M\u00e1s
